World Sleep Day 2026 is Friday, March 13, 2026. This annual global health awareness day aims to raise awareness about the importance of sleep health and the impact of sleep on our lives — physically, mentally, and socially.
The theme for 2026 is “Sleep Well, Live Better”, a reminder that sleep isn’t a luxury but a foundational pillar of health, on par with nutrition and exercise.
Sleeping well is essential for your wellness jigsaw to have all its pieces in place.
Why Sleep Is Essential for Health
1. Physical Health
Sleep supports numerous body systems, including:
- Immune function: quality sleep helps your body fight infections and clear inflammation.
- Metabolic regulation: inadequate sleep disrupts hormones that control hunger and glucose, linked to obesity and diabetes.
- Cardiovascular health: regular good sleep lowers the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.
2. Mental and Cognitive Health
- Memory & learning: sleep helps the brain process and store information.
- Mood stability: poor sleep increases the risk of anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation.
- Sharper attention and decision-making: well-rested brains are more alert and better able to handle complex tasks.
Consistent sleep has also been associated with longer life expectancy and reduced risk of early death — with studies suggesting that sleeping around seven hours per night regularly can add years to your life.
3. Sleep and Daily Wellness
Quality sleep impacts how you function every day:
- Better focus and productivity
- Reduced stress and anxiety
- Improved emotional regulation
- Stronger immune resilience
These benefits together contribute to a generally healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
I have always been mindful of my sleep patterns as I was such a poor sleeper in my early 20’s and I was inspired to start taking some Tissue Salts and Bach Flowers. This led me to start studying natural medicine and as a result I left teaching after being introduced to Tissue Salts and Bach Flowers. Initially I applied to study the training on these modalities that Martin & Pleasance offered in the 90” s. I was so inspired, I completed all my training and was given the opportunity to formulate the Martin & Pleasance homeopathic range and the first formula I formulated was Sleep Relief which includes 2 Tissue Salts.
Sleep Relief formula is one of my favourites as it was formulated for the temporary relief of light, restless sleep due to stress, tension, pain and nervous conditions. To this, I always love adding Bach Flowers as the emotional platform needs to be supported. The Rest & Quiet Sleep formula which is a blend of Bach Flowers that are specifically formulated to support the emotional balance necessary to enjoy a good night’s sleep.
Both Sleep Relief and Rest&Quiet Sleep can be added to your daily regime to support your sleep.
Both these formulas have been a duo I have prescribed for many years as along with Tissue Salts, Bach Flowers were the second modality I fell in love with and still love today taking and prescribing. I have a training manual I wrote on all the Homeopathic formulas I formulated and please ask for the manual to be emailed to you.
Sleep is essential and I have provided 2 health solutions that are natural and can be added to your daily regime.
ALWAYS READ THE LABEL AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS FOR USE
