About Bach Flower Remedies
What are Bach Flower Remedies?
Bach Flower Remedies are natural solutions designed to support emotional wellbeing. They were originally developed by Dr. Edward Bach and are prepared from flower essences derived from organic, natural environments.
Who are Ainsworths?
Ainsworths is a UK-based centre of excellence specialising in the preparation of Bach Flower Remedies. With a worldwide reputation, they have been recognized with Royal Warrants from HM The King, HM The Queen Mother, and HRH The Prince of Wales since 1980.
Why choose Ainsworths Bach Flower Remedies?
Ainsworths offers a blend of tradition and quality:
- They follow Dr. Bach’s original philosophy and method.
- The remedies are produced in a naturally organic setting with minimal human intervention.
- They hold prestigious Royal Warrants, reflecting their excellence.
- Comprehensive education and training are available to help you understand and use the remedies effectively.
What is the difference between Bach Flowers and Ainsworths Bach Flowers?
Bach Flowers as a system were founded by Dr Bach in the 1930s, encompassing 38 flower remedies. Martin & Pleasance stocks Ainsworths Bach Flowers, not the Nelsons brand. Ainsworths, based in the UK, hold Royal Warrants of Appointment and follow Dr Bach's original method and potency, preserved at a 1:240 dilution. Their remedies are produced from an organic natural environment of woodland, river, pastures, and gardens that are owned, conserved, and protected. Free Bach Flower training (4 online modules and 3 CPE points) is included with every Bach Flower kit purchase.

Ingredients & Preparation
What environments are used for producing Ainsworths remedies?
Ainsworths ensure that their remedies are produced from an organic natural environment that includes woodlands, rivers, pastures, and gardens. Their grounds are owned, conserved, and protected to maintain the highest quality and integrity of the remedies.
What makes Ainsworths Bach Flower Remedies unique?
Ainsworths adhere closely to Dr. Edward Bach’s original instructions by preserving the flower essence at a 1:240 dilution. Their remedies are produced using flowers grown in a natural, organic environment—woodlands, rivers, pastures, and gardens—with minimal human intervention to maintain quality and integrity. Ainsworths pride themselves on preserving the original spirit and method of Dr. Bach, which means the remedies are not homeopathically diluted.
How are Ainsworths Bach Flower Remedies made?
Ainsworths Bach Flower Remedies are made by Tony Pinkus, pharmacist director of Ainsworths, using wild, indigenous species of plants, shrubs, and trees growing in unspoilt areas of the UK. Production is organic with no chemicals used to promote or inhibit growth. The remedies follow Dr Bach's original method and potency at a 1:240 dilution of flower essence.
If my Bach Remedy tastes and smells of alcohol, can I still use it before driving or before an interview?
Yes the alcohol content is minimal if used according to the dosage instructions given e.g. 4 drops x 4 times per day.
Why does my Bach Remedy smell and taste like brandy?
Your Bach Remedy is preserved in alcohol so the smell and the taste is characteristic of brandy.
Why does Ainsworths use 40% alcohol rather than 27%?
Bach himself used pure brandy with an alcohol content of 36–40%. The higher the percentage, the longer lasting the remedy. Nelson's used 27% alcohol by diluting the brandy with water. Ainsworths follows Bach's recommended dilution of two drops of mother essence per ounce (30mL) of brandy, resulting in a 1:240 dilution at 40% alcohol — closely following Bach's original instructions.
Is Ainsworths Gluten free?
Yes.
Directions & Dosage
How long do I need to take my Bach Flower remedy for?
It is best to continue your Bach Flower remedy four times per day, for several weeks, or at least until you start to feel more balanced. You will not overdose on Bach Flowers and can continue to take as needed. If emotional strain is persistent, seek advice from your healthcare practitioner.
To make a remedy and how many individual Ainsworth Bach Flowers can I take at one time?
Combine 2 drops of each stock bottle into a 25mL bottle of distilled/ purified water. You can add 15-20% brandy for preserving the water. It is possible that more than one remedy may be suitable for your case; if so, you can combine up to 6 or 7 remedies if necessary.
