Q. What is Spatone®?

A. Spatone® is a 100% natural liquid iron supplement to help maintain healthy iron levels. Each sachet contains 25mL Trefriw Wells mineral water equivalent to 5mg elemental iron as ferrous iron (Fe²⁺).

Q. What are the benefits of having an iron supplement in the ferrous iron (Fe²⁺) form?

A. The ferrous iron (Fe²⁺) in Spatone® is scientifically shown to be a highly bioavailable source of iron. Since it is readily absorbed in the body, you only need to take a small amount of elemental iron (Fe²⁺). This is why Spatone® typically causes few of the common side effects of iron supplementation such as constipation and stomach irrigation.

Q. Can I take Spatone® if I am pregnant?

A. Spatone® is suitable for all stages of pregnancy and is scientifically tested and shown to help maintain healthy iron levels during pregnancy. Spatone® only contains naturally occurring iron-rich mineral water that is easily absorbed, gentle on the stomach and less likely to cause constipation.

Q. Can children take Spatone®?

A. Spatone® is suitable for children 2 years and older. It should not be used in children under 2 years of age without medical advice.

Q. Where does Spatone® come from?

A. Spatone is sourced from a naturally occurring mineral water in Trefriw Wells, Snowdonia, North Wales, UK. The sachets are filled at the source and are free from any additives.

Q. How long can I take Spatone® for?

A. Spatone can be taken ongoing to supplement dietary iron, and to help maintain healthy iron levels.

Q. What is the best time of the day to take Spatone® Iron?

A. Spatone® can be taken any time of the day. Some foods, drinks or medicines may inhibit iron absorption, so it is best to take Spatone® on an empty stomach (at least 30 minutes before meals) for optimal absorption.

Q. Can Spatone® be taken with other medications?

A. If you are taking other medications, you should check with your healthcare practitioner before taking Spatone®. Some foods, drinks or medicines may inhibit iron absorption, so it is best to take Spatone® on an empty stomach (at least 30 minutes before meals) for optimal absorption.

Q. What does Spatone® taste like?

A. Spatone® has a slightly metallic taste. You can drink straight from the sachet or add to half a cup of juice and drink immediately.
